A number of years ago my doctor told me I couldn't live more than two months. The disease was tuberculosis; and, having two young children to care for, I was deeply depressed. A dear sister gave me Christian Science periodicals and a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

At first I wouldn't even look at Science and Health but one day I started reading it. I could hardly lay it down. I read and prayed almost constantly for two days, just seeking to know if this were the truth. My husband was away working and, being very weak, I asked my three-year-old girl to go with me to gather the eggs.
