"Am I a God at hand?"

One of the greatly valued truths utilized in Christian Science healing is that of the presence of divine power acting in our behalf.

If our faith is wavering and our understanding of Spirit clouded, we can be sure that we have little, if any, direct association with God. "Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off?" Jer, 23:23; Such Bible passages indicate that when we desire a direct answer to our prayer, it is best to talk with God as a trusting son would talk with his father.

We should all strive to become conscious of the immediate presence of God who is Love. Students of the Scriptures are acquainted with Moses' close relationship to God, from whom he received direction naturally and frequently concerning the children of Israel and their destiny. Rather than represent himself as a mighty leader or as possessing personal authority by which the Israelites were to escape from bondage, Moses clearly referred to the great "I AM" Ex. 3:14; as supreme over all and spoke as His trusted messenger when in communication with Him. Deific response was sure. "The Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend." 33:11;
