My blessings have been abundant since I took up the study of Christian Science some years ago.
I was told by my employer (a large insurance company) that because of my absentee record for illness, if I was out sick another day, they would insist that I have another operation on my throat. An earlier operation had not helped me. If I refused, they said, they would have to ask for my resignation. Those were the depression years, and I was a young bride. It was necessary that I as well as my husband work in order to maintain our home and commitments.
I awakened one Friday morning very sick with a high temperature, and I had to report to the office that I was ill and could not go in to work. I had suffered a great deal for over a year after the previous operation, and I had no faith that another would make me well. A member of my family with whom I had occasionally attended Christian Science services learned of my predicament and recommended I try Science. I decided to ask for treatment to see what it could do for me.
