A Distinct Method of Healing

Unlike any other healing method, religious or otherwise, Christian Science heals on the basis of man's spiritual identity as God's idea. This identity includes no matter, for matter is unreal since God, Spirit, matter's opposite, is All-in-all.

Other healing methods assume that matter is self-existent or God-created. The healing effects of Christian Science result from the fact that its denials and affirmations are true: matter actually is an illusion; Spirit actually is substance. Christ Jesus demonstrated this by healing the sick, raising the dead, resurrecting himself and ascending above material sight. The belief in the reality of matter has become so fixed in human thought today that even many ministers of the gospel doubt that these things actually occurred. And some theologians are questioning the existence of God.

Jesus gave us a test which we could apply through Christ, Truth, to prove the presence and power of God. He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." John 14:12; Christian Science explains that believing in Jesus is not a matter of blind faith but of spiritually understanding his teachings. And all of his teachings point to the presence and power of God as the Life and substance of all that is real.
