The humble declarations of truth and demonstrations of healing...

The humble declarations of truth and demonstrations of healing contained in the testimonies I have heard and read have blessed and encouraged me ever since I began the study of Christian Science. Regular study and quiet contemplation of the writings of Mrs. Eddy have lifted my thinking to an increasingly spiritual basis. This basis has given me a moral yardstick to measure my human activity. I am thankful for association with Christian Scientists throughout the years and especially for the love and understanding of the practitioners.

A healing has now awakened me to express my gratitude in a testimony. To my dismay I found that my feet had swollen to such an extent that my shoes would not fit; the condition affected me so that I could not move freely, and it was difficult to get up or to sit down. A wise practitioner pointed out that it was a spiritual standpoint I needed to attain and that I should put all activity in the spiritual realm. The progress was slow, but my prayerful work brought me into a clearer spiritual sense. The kindness and consideration of my family encouraged and sustained me. Many passages from the prose works of Mrs. Eddy were given to me for study. One in particular comforted me. It reads (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 132), "Oh, may this hour be prolific, and at this time and in every heart may there come this benediction: Thou hast no longer to appeal to human strength, to strive with agony; I am thy deliverer."

How grateful I am to God that the healing was complete!
