A few years ago I was healed through Christian Science of painful stiffness in my neck and shoulders. The pain was so intense that I could find no degree of comfort, so I was impelled to request the services of an experienced Christian Science practitioner.

In my letter to the practitioner, I mentioned that I was inclined to be exacting, not only in my home but in my church work. The practitioner pointed out that this mental attitude might he linked to the physical problem. While it was right to be thorough and to put one's best into one's work, rigidity of thought was the result of opinionatedness and was no part of the expression of Principle. God. Patience, skill, and flexibility of outlook were demanded.

With the desire to be obedient, I endeavored to be more loving and more yielding toward my fellow workers. Very soon these Bible words came to me (Isa. 3:6): "The government shall be upon his shoulder." I knew that since the government was upon the shoulders of the Christ, Truth, it couldn't be upon mine. All I needed to do was to replace the counterfeit with the counterfact, that is the error with the truth, the wrong thought with the right thought.
