The greatest blessing in my life...

The greatest blessing in my life has been Christian Science. I shall always be grateful for the fact that I was brought up in a home where it was loved and lived. Each morning our family gathered for the reading of some part of the weekly Lesson-Sermon, set out in the Quarterly, and this reading became such a part of my life that it was natural for me to continue it for myself as I grew older. I have found the study of Science more rewarding than any other study in which I have engaged.

During these many years I have experienced an almost perfect sense of health. In my twenty-three years of employment as a teacher in the public schools, at no time did I ever have to be absent on account of illness. However, this does not imply that I had no physical problems during those years.

On a number of occasions I was able to be at my place in the classroom only by reliance on God through Christian Science treatment, either my own or that of a practitioner. Also, during my three-year term of Reader in a branch church, I was always able to be in my place. On one or two occasions the belief of laryngitis tempted me with the suggestion that I wouldn't be able to read; but each time the temptation was met, and I was able to read freely.
