My father, who was a mid-western farmer, was healed of hay fever through Christian Science. Consequently both my parents took up its study in earnest and were members of a branch church before I was born. My early training at home and in the Christian Science Sunday School constituted a firm foundation on which to establish the events of my life and enabled me to rely on this Science to meet every human need. In our family of five children there were opportunities for the application of Christian Science nearly every day.

In my school days this religion helped me to meet competition, to be an honor student and to hold responsible positions, and later it aided me in finding my right place as a public schoolteacher. I have experienced protection on the highways as well as guidance in business affairs and in making the decisions of a lifetime. I have been rescued from drowning while vacationing at the beach and have been healed many times of discordant physical conditions.

Soon after my parents passed away, I had quite a testing time. I had asked a friend to come and share my old home with me. I was suffering from a severe throat condition, keenly missed my mother's gentle, firm assistance in my struggle to meet this physical difficulty. The practitioner who was helping me recognized this.
