My appreciation of and love...
My appreciation of and love for Christ Jesus and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and her consecrated work in revealing to the world Christian Science, the Comforter which Jesus promised, increase each day.
Before I became interested in Science, I had many times been in despair. Since childhood I suffered greatly from extreme timidity and nervousness. The condition became worse as time went by. During the years I tried many doctors and so-called remedies. But finally I concluded that medicine could not help me. At this point I was led to Christian Science.
With the loving support of dear friends and an understanding practitioner I began to see that in reality I had nothing to fear. The practitioner made it clear to me that nothing harmful can invade the consciousness of the one divine Mind, God, and that therefore nothing harmful can invade the existence of His idea, man. I thought this over and over before going to sleep, until I was convinced of the fact that God, divine Love, is ever present.
