Persist!
How often we hear the despairing words, "What's the use?" implying that a difficulty is without hope of solution. Nonetheless, victory over evil is being won daily by Christian Scientists through their persistent denial of the reality of anything unlike God. They thus prove that persistence in the denial of evil, coupled with a persistent and understanding acknowledgment of the ever-presence of good, will restore harmony to every aspect of human existence.
When I was a new student of Science, I was harassed by a discordant physical condition for several weeks. When it did not yield to my own prayerful work, I called a practitioner for help. Some months later the condition appeared no better, and I released the practitioner from further work, concluding the conversation with the words, "What's the use?"
Realizing that discouragement and resignation to error's wiles were making inroads into my thought, the practitioner spoke these startling words: "You may think what you please, but I myself refuse to let go of health and harmony." The impact of this spiritually scientific thought was so forceful that an immediate healing took place.
