In November, 1962, I smashed my wrist and the bones in my hand. Being alone at the time, my first thought was one of extreme panic, but then I recalled Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 424), "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection."
Even though I had sustained a severe shock and the pain was severe, I managed to get to a telephone and ask for treatment from a dedicated Christian Science practitioner. Shortly thereafter, when she came to see me, the pain had diminished considerably.
I made progress daily with the continued help of this practitioner. Also, reading and studying the healing truths contained in our weekly Lesson-Sermons, outlined in the Quarterly, aided immeasurably in making the demonstration. No recourse was made to physicians, no X rays were taken, nor was any bone setting done. In fact, I did not even wear a bandage.
