"Blessed are the peacemakers"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Jeff was an enthusiastic member of a class of preschool boys which met four mornings a week. The school building was nestled in the woods, and in the fall the children spent much of their time outdoors. One day Jeff and another boy found a turtle, and Jeff brought it home. Another day the class gathered walnuts and spread them in the sun to dry.

Every day when Jeff came home from school, his stories were full of the fun he was having with his friends. In fact, the nicest thing about going to pre-school was having the other boys to explore with, to build things with, and to play games with.

But after a few months the teacher asked all the mothers to come for a meeting. She explained that the boys were now spending so much time fighting that she was unable to accomplish anything of interest and value. She asked each mother to talk to her own boy in an effort to correct this situation.
