"Hungering and thirsting after...
"Hungering and thirsting after a better life, we shall have it, and become Christian Scientists; learn God aright, and know something of the ideal man, the real man, harmonious and eternal." So says Mrs. Eddy on page 235 of "Miscellaneous Writings."
With deep gratitude I wish to testify to my spiritual growth in learning "God aright" and getting to "know something of the ideal man." Almost forty years ago I took a position which seemed beyond my ability to fill. During that period of great strain Christian Science was brought to my attention.
Of the seven synonyms which Mrs. Eddy gives for God, Principle appealed to me first. The fact that this Principle is also Love, all-encompassing, impartial Love, gave me a feeling of gratitude and confidence; my work lost the tenseness which results from a false sense of responsibility; personal contacts became smooth, and problems melted away.
