RADIO PROGRAM No. 194 - How Shall I Prepare for Christmas?

[The following is the second of three programs on Christmas.]

ANNOUNCER: What is Christmas? Is it a clay, a dinner, a family gathering, an exchange of gifts? What is the real purpose of Christmas, and how are we preparing for it?

QUESTIONER: There's so much activity involved in getting ready for Christmas nowadays that, if we're not careful, we're inclined to forget what it's all about. How do you think we can prepare for Christmas and still not lose sight of its real purpose?

SPEAKER: I know what you mean, and I think you're right that we should know what Christmas is. It's interesting to me that in the town where I live, the stores have signs in their windows, "Keep tin; Christ in Christmas." This indicates to me that the general public is aware that there is a better approach to Christmas. In other words, instead of letting commercialism and other activities crowd out the real meaning of Christmas, we should keep the Christ in it.
