My first healing in Christian Science...

My first healing in Christian Science about twenty years ago was a quick and permanent one. I awoke one morning unable to move my head. A small growth on the back of my neck had suddenly become very large and painful. A physician told me there was nothing he could do because it was too late and gave me pills to deaden the pain. Somehow I could not accept this verdict. In my great distress I silently asked God what to do. And then the thought came to me, "Try Christian Science." I went to the nearest Christian Science practitioner.

She greeted me warmly and read to me from Psalms (91:10, 11): "There shall no evil befall thee. . . . For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." Then she said: "God is Love; you are His perfect child and He loves you; He needs you; you are important to Him.

It seemed to me that she knew the difficulties I was having at my job and that I felt unwanted and unneeded there. Her precious words instantaneously released me from pressure, and the pain left me. I could turn my head in every direction. For the first time in many months I was able to sleep that night. The next morning I noticed that all trace of the growth had disappeared. I was able to return to work that same day. I felt reborn.
