My first healing was that of whooping cough. I was sixteen months old, and the illness was healed instantaneously with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. This healing was our family's introduction to Science in 1914.

My aunt, who witnessed my healing, was visiting her brother several years later. His wife was passing on with tuberculosis of the hipbone when Christian Science was recommended. A practitioner was called, and in a short time the patient was sitting up in bed.

The doctor, who had left expecting to return only to sign the death certificate, returned out of curiosity. Amazed at what he saw, he said, "Well, she will never walk again." Two years later I saw her begin to walk, although one leg was several inches shorter. It soon elongated, and she walked normally. This marvelous healing converted my aunt's whole family to Christian Science.
