While I was in my twenties, a painful, partial paralysis of one side of my body set in. Every effort on a medical basis to bring about a healing of this condition proved to be completely unsuccessful.
On the advice of a dear friend who was an adherent of Christian Science, I turned to a practitioner, who referred me to the chapter entitled "Recapitulation" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and recommended that I study it. Subsequently I read the entire textbook; however, one passage in the chapter mentioned made a particular impression on me. We read on pages 476 and 477 the following words of absolute truth: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."
