Over thirty year ago Christian Science...
Over thirty year ago Christian Science was introduced to me through an aunt whom I visited in the country and who was an earnest student of this Science. I was privileged to attend a Christian Science Sunday School for two years, and those first lessons have lived with me through the years, bringing healings and blessings.
My first healing was that of the removal of eyeglasses, which I had worn from an early age. My aunt said I didn't need them; I took them off, not actually realizing what was taking place, but accepting the freedom from this bondage and receiving a healing. It wasn't until many years later, after beginning to study Christian Science in earnest, that I began to understand a little of what a healing in Christian Science really means, namely the joyful acceptance of our true relationship to a loving God; thus we overcome the suggestions of mortality.
On page 230 of "Miscellaneous Writings," Mrs. Eddy says, "Success in life depends upon persistent effort, upon the improvement of moments more than upon am other one tiling." Success in the study of Christian Science certainly depends upon persistent effort, and to let down one's guard for even a moment may mean doubling one's effort to regain one's position.
