Our beloved Leader has enjoined...
Our beloved Leader has enjoined upon us obedience to divine Love and has told us of its limitless power. Through the years, I have had many demonstrations of this power, and each one has brought a deeper understanding of that divine presence. Some of these healings have come about through scientific understanding and application of specific Bible passages.
The commandment which Jesus spoke of as the first and great commandment, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" (Matt. 22: 37), is particularly precious to me. Through this commandment, understood and obeyed in the light of Christian Science, I was healed of what appeared to be a serious heart condition.
It was about 1952 that, over a period of several months, I had recurrent attacks of pain and nausea during which I could not move or even have a pillow under my head. Each time this occurred, I declared the truths of Christian Science and rebuked the error, sometimes with the help of a Christian Science practitioner and sometimes without.
