Persistence in the Right Direction
Truth can be found and applied in any experience when an individual strives to find and use it, This fact was made vivid to the writer in a simple but extremely practical experience. He and his wife had painted part of their house and were in the process of cleaning up the many spots which had been left on the floors and stairs.
It was soon observed by the writer, whose task it was to clean up while his wife was busy with other jobs, that the well-hardened spots yielded when a persistent effort was made to get rid of them one at time. He saw that what was needed was a concentrated attack on a specific spot, or, in popular terms, a little more elbow grease in the right place. With this insight, he finished the job in a relatively short time with lightness and good humor.
The rule of being persistent in the right direction is a vitally important factor in all healing work. Christ Jesus pointed out to his students by way of parable the importance of persistence.
