Some forty years ago I was enrolled...
Some forty years ago I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School because my parents wanted me to learn at least something about the Bible. The seed of Truth must have been planted then, for through the dear teacher's guidance I came to love the Scriptures; she must have loved God very much, and I am grateful for these early teachings.
It was soon after this that my mother sent for a Christian Science practitioner, and I was instantaneously healed of a fever. And I made use of what I learned, even at school. Having fallen about six feet and hit my head on a cement floor at recess one day, I ran to the basement declaring to myself that God is Love. The teacher was amazed that not a bump of any size appeared.
Mrs. Eddy says on page 449 of the textbook, "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing."
