I am very grateful for Christian Science—for the help and comfort I have received through the study of this Science over a number of years. It healed me of grief when my mother passed on. At the time, I was serving as First Reader in a Christian Science Society; but I was able to continue with this work, not missing a service, and was lifted right above any sense of loss or sadness.

This was very wonderful to me, because previously at the passing of very dear members of my family, a sense of grief and sadness had persisted over a number of years.

More recently, I experienced a severe hemorrhage and an extreme sense of weakness. Although I had requested the help of a Christian Science practitioner, members of my family called in a doctor, who recommended surgery. He also recommended that I take something he would prescribe to compensate; for the loss of blood. When I refused to take it he tried to tell me it was a food; but immediately the thought came to me that the spiritual truths I was studying daily were my food and that they would support me. And so it proved.
