"The recipe for beauty"
One's physical appearance is important. It reflects what is in one's thought. But a beautiful appearance is more than a matter of thinking beautiful thoughts; it is evidence of identifying oneself with the qualities of Soul.
Some individuals achieve fame for something called beauty when their inward thoughts are anything but beautiful. Others appear to be plain even though their thoughts are occupied with beautiful things. But an understanding of man as the image of Soul tells us that the material sense of beauty merely hints at divine reality. With this understanding we can demonstrate practically that beautiful thoughts result in a beautiful appearance.
On page 247 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Comeliness and grace are independent of matter." And farther on she continues, "Beauty is a thing of life, which dwells forever in the eternal Mind and reflects the charms of His goodness in expression, form, outline, and color.
