My introduction to Christian Science...
My introduction to Christian Science came while I was attending the graduate school of a large university. After reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy for just two hours, I was instantaneously healed of social drinking, the use of profanity, and the noxious smoking habit.
These healings came as a bonus, for actually I had turned to Science to seek healing from a condition termed bursitis, which threatened the success of my performance of a piano concerto scheduled within two days. I was assured by a fellow college student, a Christian Scientist, that God could help me. I was led to borrow the textbook from the university library that very night, and I started reading it to learn something of the true nature of God and in relationship to Him. The physical problem too was healed from that first perusal. All these demonstrations were complete and have been permanent.
From that time on, I took up the study of Christian Science, and, through the application of its teachings, many fine opportunities opened up in my musical career which provided me with ample funds for further study and travel. Later, through prayerful effort, the demonstration of right companionship was made, and this has proved a real blessing.
