We are so thankful in our family...
We are so thankful in our family to have a growing understanding of the power of God through our study of Christian Science. Sometime ago, when we were living in Singapore, our young daughter was savaged by a tomcat; her chest and arm were scratched deeply, and she had several deep bites on her shoulder. Immediately fears of diseases, which in a tropical country seem to dominate human thought in cases of this kind, presented themselves like skittles to be knocked down.
We knew instantly that God is not responsible for any disease at all, nor is God responsible for scratchy cats or scratched people and that therefore these were counterfeits of reality, false beliefs, false gods, idols. In fact, it was a sin to believe in their power, because sin is believing something to be real which is not.
The fear in our hearts melted after a soothing conversation with another member of the local Christian Science Society who instantly affirmed her allegiance to good and her disbelief in the whole mortal picture.
