For over twenty-five years the...
For over twenty-five years the wearing of reading glasses was a necessity which faced me daily. Each morning when I arrived at my office, my first act was to reach into my pocket for my glasses in order to read my mail.
Although I have been interested in Christian Science for many years, the problem of deteriorating eyesight did not seem to me to be serious enough to take it strongly in hand from the standpoint of Science until I was alerted to my responsibility to do so by a practitioner, who had gone through the same experience himself and was finally freed from slavery to glasses.
For some months I made it a point to study passages that had to do with vision and eyesight in the various writings of Mrs. Eddy as well as those in the Christian Science periodicals. I had to struggle, but I am grateful to say that in a few months I was able to discard my glasses entirely. This demonstration took place several years ago and has been complete. I read the newspaper and telephone book or any normal reading material with facility, and for this I am grateful.
