I have turned to Christian Science...
I Have turned to Christian Science for healing since I was nine years old. There have been many outstanding demonstrations of the law of harmony at work in my experience. So-called children's diseases yielded quickly to the spiritual truths presented to my receptive thought by a Christian Science practitioner. The Christian Science Sunday School was a haven where troublesome limitations were cast aside for an understanding of true individuality.
During a Christmas holiday, plans were abruptly changed; resentment over the circumstances paraded across my thought. Eventually I was evidencing high fever and other symptoms of illness. Because the condition did not yield readily, a practitioner was called. In a few days I was once more in perfect health and had learned the lesson of Mrs. Eddy's statement that "the denial of material selfhood aids the discernment of man's spiritual and eternal individuality, and destroys the erroneous knowledge gained from matter or through what are termed the material senses" (Science and Health, p. 91).
When I entered college I undertook to support myself financially. The funds came in direct proportion to my increasing understanding that God, the source of man's being, provides all spiritual supply in abundance for His child in order that He may be glorified. During the four years, patterns of varied adventure unfolded, all hinting the infinite magnitude of God's universe and man's boundless opportunity for discovery.
