A Practical Approach to Academics
[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]
The college campus is a proving ground for varied problems, not the least of which is that of limited comprehension. Students who accept limited intelligence in their scholastic endeavors might well reconsider the subject in the light of Christian Science.
Physical science has never discovered one degree of intelligence existent in any of the material elements. From what basis, then, can we support the theory that intelligence emanates from a combination of some of these elements called brain? Obviously, there is not anything in matter out of which intelligence can be made. Yet we know that intelligence does exist, for we know that we exist. Intelligence being existent, it must have a cause; and not being in or of matter, it must be the creation of Spirit. The creator Christian Science recognizes is God, infinite Mind.
God, infinite Mind, expresses Himself. This expression is the real man, the very image and likeness of his source. The elements of divine Mind, including intelligence, are eternally manifested in man. Therefore he does not need to acquire intelligence from some place outside, for he is at the very standpoint of intelligence.
