WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST
[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on March 22, 1964.]
Sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant (Ps. 135:3)
The words "it is" are not represented in the original Hebrew text, having been added by the translators to complete the sense in English. Moffatt prefers to supply the words "he is," thus taking the adjective here rendered "pleasant" as referring to God, and offers this translation: "Sing to his name, for he is gracious." Kent, however, prefers to read, "Make melody to his name, for it is lovely."
They ... shall be written in the earth (Jer. 17:13)
