Many years ago, after submitting...
Many years ago, after submitting to an operation, I became greatly depleted and was left partially paralyzed. While I was in this weakened state, the future seemed dark since the doctor had told me that there was nothing that could be done to correct the condition. However, he advised me to study Christian Science. He said it was good for the mind and would help me to stop worrying.
A friend who had been studying Science a short time brought me some literature and recommended that I see a practitioner. I did so, and she explained Science to me and told me of God's goodness and allness. I loved what I heard. However, I was unwilling to give up the medicine until the practitioner told me that I could not mix the two, that it required radical reliance on God to be healed.
Soon a new life began for me. I discountinued the medicine, gained weight, slept well, and was soon able to go back to work in my beauty shop. For a couple of years it was necessary for me to use a cane in walking, but finally that was laid aside also. This was over twenty-five years ago.
