Lessons from a Jigsaw Puzzle
Examples seen through familiar imagery are easy to understand and remember. Jesus illustrated great moral and spiritual fundamentals by his simple parables. "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them," we read in Matthew (13:34).
The parable way might be called communication by illustration. Several striking illustrations of metaphysical truth came to me when I was putting together a jigsaw puzzle. The lessons learned have been useful to me in solving some of the puzzlements of mortal mind.
The puzzle being assembled was cleverly cut with complex interlocking parts. The colorful picture on the box showed the finished scene and was a helpful guide. After the familiar smoothsided pieces were put together forming the frame, the filling-in job presented a real challenge. Finally an impasse was reached.
