The illuminating statement by our Leader on page 380 of Science and Health that "Truth is always the victor" has been proven many times in my experience.

One day I was stricken with a pain in one of my shoulders, and it was impossible for me to move my arm or hand. I prayed as we are taught to do in Christian Science; but when the condition did not yield, I called for the help of my teacher, whose prayers had helped me many times before.

Although some relief was gained immediately, I knew that I had to see the unreality of all sin, disease, and death and that this ailment was not primarily physical but mental. I had to examine my thinking and cast out what was untrue and unreal, refuse to accept this false sense testimony, and do some good mental housecleaning to free my thoughts from the suggestions of fear, impatience, self-righteousness, and other false beliefs.
