"To those leaning on the sustaining...
"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p vii). I had the great privilege of reading this passage as a quotation in The Herald of Christian Science (French Edition), loaned to me by a sister of mine. The statement was for me a genuine revelation and has remained a continual source of inspiration and a great help in my problems.
For years I was searching for a religion which would give me a true definition of God. I could not accept or recognize a God who judges harshly and punishes the innocent, and it was Christian Science which gave me the clear and convincing answer that God is a loving and good Father. The textbook enlightened and helped me, and from that time Science entered into my family, transforming it. My dear ones and I have had numerous healings.
The tendency to sullenness has, happily, been overcome, thanks to the understanding that, as we read on page 60 of Science and Health, "the beautiful in character is also the good, welding indissolubly the links of affection."
