"PUT ON THE NEW MAN"
Colossians 3:10
Seek
not the cataclysmic flash,
Transition absolute, today.
Take not by storm the citadel,
But one sure step along the way.
Each upward step, each better thought.
Each small indulgence disavowed
Gives us the grace and peace and joy
To find each task by Soul endowed.
No habit has the power to stand,
Nor chronic claim point at the clock;
No sense can speak, or thought delay,
The progress that our steps unlock.
Each step is natural, easy, free,
From prayer besought, an angel tiding;
Each one can fill a human need
And shower with blessings our abiding.
