Giving a Christian Science Lecture
The Purpose of a Christian Science Lecture
[This is the first of four addresses given at the meeting in the Extension of The Mother Church on June 5, 1963. Another address will appear next week.]
A Sunday School teacher wasn't getting over to his class of small boys the meaning of the fourth beatitude. The little fellows understood hungering and thirsting after righteousness, all right, but just didn't grasp being filled or satisfied with the truth. The teacher went around the class without getting even a nibble; so when he got to Tommy, his last hope, he gave him a hint. He said, "Tommy, tell us how do you feel when you've had all you want to eat?"
Tommy thought a moment and then replied, "I can't remember when I ever did have all I wanted to eat!"
