"Felt ye the power of the Word?" (Poems by Mrs. Eddy, p. 75.) I am genuinely grateful for a twofold healing involving an infectious inflammation through holding to the truth that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebr. 4:12).

I began the study of Christian Science in 1956 as a result of seeing what it had done for my sister and brother-in-law. At that time an asthmatic condition from which I had suffered was healed.

My husband and I are employed in domestic work and therefore subject to the wishes of employers in matters of physical examinations, sanitary inspections, and so on. At a time when I had influenza and was receiving Christian Science treatment, my employer insisted that I have a medical doctor examine me. I was examined and the doctor said that there was a streptococcic condition present. I insisted on relying on God to heal me and refused all proffered medical treatment, including injections which the doctor said were indicated.
