A favorite hymn of mine in the...
A favorite hymn of mine in the Christian Science Hymnal is No. 3. It reminds us that "a grateful heart a garden is." I should like to take this opportunity to count the blooms in my garden of gratitude.
I was led to Christian Science by my grandmother. She did not talk this beloved and practical religion; she lived it. Ten years ago, when I saw all material supports crumble in my experience, I knew where to turn for help because I realized that she had an understanding that brought peace.
Immediately I began to search for God by daily study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, and all sense of needing material support vanished, to be replaced with the realization that "the eternal God is [my] refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms" (Deut. 33: 27).
