The very turbulence of men's thought and action today is evidence that humanity is restlessly creating the pressure for a breakthrough into a brand-new era. As at any critical point in history, feelings are divided between fear —fear of change and of only partially understood forces that are bringing about that change—and on the other hand the excitement of potential benefits. ...

Perhaps since it is a technical age, we can find out better where we are and where we can go by using for humanity the kind of equations that are normally confined to science.
