A Loud Appeal
In times of need leaders and governments have appealed loudly for workers who were willing to sacrifice themselves individually for the benefit of the many. Their appeals have awakened great numbers of people who were asleep to the urgent needs of a country, a religion, or a cause.
Today many calls go out for students who are willing to become technologists and to carry the world to greater physical freedom through the application of the natural sciences. Christian Science, the Science of Christ, needs workers who will help to bring spiritual freedom to the world. This revealed Science delves deeply into the latent mental forces that motivate humanity, and it silences evil and fearful thoughts, which result in disease, poverty, dissension, and war. Workers willing really to spiritualize their thinking for the Cause of Christ are needed.
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in her Message to The Mother Church for 1901 (p. 35): "Christian Science appeals loudly to those asleep upon the hill-tops of Zion. It is a clarion call to the reign of righteousness, to the kingdom of heaven within us and on earth, and Love is the way alway."
