Many years ago I heard of Christian Science, but I thought it was just another religion. I did not realize that there was any healing connected with it until I went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch church.

For a number of years I had had a serious and painful condition. A doctor had tried to persuade me to have an examination and possibly an operation, but I would not submit to either. Instead, after becoming interested in Christian Science, I made an appointment with a practitioner.

She recognized at once that I was afraid, which I could not deny, and explained that I would have to change my thinking if I wanted to experience God's healing power. She advised me to purchase a copy of the King James Version of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and to study particularly the chapter on Prayer in the latter.
