GRACE

As yesterday is but a shadow
Upon which the door of eternity has already
Silently closed
And tomorrow but a myth
In which men hope to bargain
For a bonus or a boon

Then is today the one reality.
The praise we give, the love we bestow,
The truth we express, if at all,
Belong to now.

Father, receive our joyful thanks
As we receive Thy blessings
Of grace and health and strength
This day, this glad and light-filled
Day of Thy creating.
