Scholars agree that there is some confusion in the Hebrew text as it has come down to us; hence it is difficult to deduce the exact meaning intended by the prophet. Moffatt suggests: "Who is like me? Let him come forward with his claim, let him set out his case before me. Who foretold the future long ago?"
