I wish to express my deep gratitude for all the blessings which Christian Science has given me; among them are many healings of physical difficulties, including severe astigmatism, sciatica, persistent headaches, and uncounted minor injuries. The use of tobacco, tea, and coffee was discontinued, as was that of bad language, through the desire to really live as a Christian Scientist. But, most of all, I am grateful for the understanding that God is Love.

While I was in the transport industry some years ago, an aluminum ingot, weighing fifty pounds, fell on my right foot while I was unloading my truck. Gently refusing kindly offers of medical aid from the factory staff, and silently declaring God's allness and the consequent unreality of chance, injury, and pain, I was able to complete the deliveries and to drive another twenty miles to my home.

My foot was badly discolored, and during the evening it became apparent that at least one toe was broken. The injury was accepted as a challenge, a test of complete trust in God's power under severe circumstances. No doubt was entertained about the healing ability of Truth as taught and demonstrated in Christian Science.
