I first learned of the healing power of Christian Science from a roommate in college. Later I married a man who attended a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and I became a member after a few years. Actively working on various committees of this branch church has given me the opportunity for much spiritual growth.

Our three sons were reared with complete reliance on Science for healing whenever it was necessary. I have seen measles healed within a few hours, and mumps have disappeared shortly after the swelling was noticed. Other healings include those of earache, colds, croup, and hernia.

When fever was manifested I found help in the first two verses of the twenty-third Psalm, which read: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." To overcome fear, I held to the implied answer to this question from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 206): "Does God send sickness, giving the mother her child for the brief space of a few years and then taking it away by death?" I am very grateful that our children had the privilege of attending Sunday School until they joined the Armed Forces.
