I am very grateful for Christian Science,...
I am very grateful for Christian Science, for all the activities of our church, for our Sunday Schools, and for the loving, unselfish work done in the nurseries provided by many Christian Science churches.
Some years ago, while our daughter was staying with us in England, we used to take her two-year-old son into the nursery of a branch church while we attended the service. The little one always looked forward to these visits and to seeing Auntie, as he called the friend who had the care of the children.
One Saturday morning as he was playing in the hall of our house with our youngest son, who was then aged thirteen and himself a regular attendant at Sunday School, our grandson picked up and drank from a bottle which I had seen earlier in the day and believed to contain water. However, our son called out to me: "Oh, Mommie! The baby has just drunk some poison out of a bottle."
