A College Student Writes

The Unreality of Academic Pressure

In Christian Science we learn that all men have one Father-Mother, one infinite God, who is continually supplying all good to each of His children. The goodness which is of God is ever present; in fact, it is the only presence, and as we become conscious of this truth, harmony comes into our experience, dispelling all sense of discord.

Since God is good and the only presence, it follows logically that there can be but one Mind, one infinite source of intelligence. Knowing this, Jesus could say (John 5:30), "I can of mine own self do nothing." How applicable, and of what importance, these truths are to the Christian Scientist in his school and college activities!

The student is liable to experience pressure in his work whenever he accepts the false belief that he himself is actually doing something by himself, and with only a limited time to do it in. All too often we accept the belief that we are mortals, thinking with a brain enclosed within a skull, and dependent upon our own mental power and drive for any success we are going to achieve in the academic field.
