"Except the Lord build the house"
In the Bible we read, "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it" (Ps. 127:1). When the members of a branch church or society turn prayerfully to divine Mind, God, for direction in a building program, unity and harmony prevail, and every need is met.
A society in Georgia shares the inspiring account of its building program.
As soon as the society had received recognition as a branch of The Mother Church, it established a building fund. Several years later an unexpected sum of money was offered with the condition that the society raise an equal amount within a year. The members accepted the challenge with gratitude and worked with new enthusiasm and dedication. Results were soon apparent: contributions on the Sundays devoted to the building fund exceeded previous collections, a number of gifts were received, and the amount was raised in six months.
