The first Christian Science healing...

The first Christian Science healing in my family took place over seventy-five years ago when my grandmother, the mother of four small children, was told by her physician that she had consumption and three other diseases, any one of which could prove fatal. At this time Christian Science was presented to her, and she was completely healed. She told me many times how she would sit up most of the night, studying this wonderful truth, never feeling any sense of fatigue because of the inspiration which she was gaining. I never knew her to have any illness through her long life.

I know Christian Science to be the most precious heritage that could have come to me. It has blessed and continues to bless our family. One outstanding healing in my experience which I should like to share is that of broken bones. I had a broken bone in my shoulder and a break between the shoulder and the elbow. No medical examination was made or X-ray pictures taken, but these injuries were apparent.

One of the Bible messages that came to me at the time of the injury is this (Gen. 15:1): "Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." A Christian Science practitioner was called, and she graciously began the healing work. Her prayers brought forth much beautiful unfoldment, and I can never be anything but grateful for this experience, which afforded me so much opportunity for stud}' and growth in grace.
