It is with overwhelming gratitude for our Father's ever-present love and ceaseless care that this testimony to the healing power of Christian Science is given.

During a period of more than thirty years' progressive study of this eternal Science there have been many outstanding healings in my family. When I had been married for seven years and apparently could have no children, I was feeling frustrated. I was without any purpose and insecure, especially because of the prevailing economic depression. A friend then urged me to really study Christian Science, which I had only discussed slightly several years before.

At that time the reasonableness of what I had read in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy appealed to my thought. I had been brought up in the same denominational teaching as had Mrs. Eddy. However, being left an orphan at twelve years of age and told at that time that I was only taken into the home of relatives because it was their Christian duty, many unhappy years were spent in a feeling of futility.
