The first healing which our...
The first healing which our family experienced in Christian Science was one my mother had. An organic difficulty, which kept her a semi-invalid, had been pronounced incurable by the physicians. She had been married only a short time, and she wanted very much to be active in taking care of her own home. She knew of Christian Science, but my father would not allow her to go to a practitioner for help.
However, one evening while they were visiting friends who were students of Science, the difficulty was mentioned. The husband asked my father if he would allow him to pray for my mother. Since my father did not object, the friend asked my mother if she knew the Lord's Prayer. He told her to say it over to herself and to think of its spiritual meaning; he would give her a Christian Science treatment. The difficulty was healed in that one treatment and did not return. Mother became very active, and she and my father, who was greatly impressed by the healing, began attending a Christian Science church.
